How much does Gousto cost a week?
Between £24.49 and £67.99 a week, delivery included. Gousto sells boxes for 1 to 5 people with 2 to 5 recipes a week. The 5-person box only comes with 2 or 3 recipes.

One thing stands out in the selector: a box for 5 people with 2 recipes costs exactly the same as a box for 2 people with 5 recipes, £46.50 before delivery. Both hold 10 portions. Gousto prices by the number of portions more than by the shape of the box.

From £3.40 to £12.25 a serving, delivery included. That is a wide range, and where you land depends almost entirely on your household.

- Gousto's own “£5.38 a portion” for 3 recipes for 2 is the box price only. With delivery it is £6.04.
- The cheapest serving is the family box: 4 people with 5 recipes, £3.40 including delivery. Gousto's advertised £3.20 is the same box without delivery.
- For 2 people, the step from 2 to 3 recipes saves the most: from £8.00 to £6.04 a serving.
- A 3-person box exists, which is rarer than it sounds. With 3 recipes it costs £5.16 a serving.

You do not have to take a box every week. Gousto also delivers fortnightly or monthly, and you can skip a week for free. Changes need to be made before the cut-off, which is currently midday three days before delivery.

On 1 October 2026 Gousto's own price page showed the same discount, spread over the first eight boxes, plus free delivery on the first box.
For the popular box for 2 people with 3 recipes, that works out like this if you take a box every week: about £16.13 for the first box, £19.35 plus delivery for the second, and £25.80 plus delivery for the six boxes after that. In total you save around £68 on the box price over eight weeks. After that you pay the normal prices in the tables above.

Is Gousto expensive?
- On your own: fairly, but you have a real choice. Gousto is one of the few mainstream recipe boxes with a one-person box. It costs £8.20 to £12.25 a serving including delivery, so more per plate than for a couple, but you do not have to cook double and eat leftovers. - For a couple: mid-range. £6.04 a serving with 3 recipes, £5.05 with 5. A supermarket shop is cheaper, but you are paying for the planning and for buying exactly what the recipe needs.
- For a family: no. 4 people with 4 or 5 recipes comes to £3.40 to £3.69 a serving, delivery included. That is among the lowest prices of any UK recipe box we track.
Is Gousto cheaper than HelloFresh?
Yes, for every box size the two have in common. We compared all 12, with delivery included: Gousto charges £3.99, HelloFresh £4.99. Gousto was cheaper each time.

For a couple the difference is small, a few pounds a week. For a family it is not: with 4 or 5 recipes a week Gousto works out £760 to £870 cheaper over a year. How to pay less for Gousto
- Order at least 3 recipes. Delivery is the same per box, so it weighs less as the box grows. For 2 people, 3 recipes cost £6.04 a serving against £8.00 for 2.
- Cook for one extra person. For a couple, a 3-person box with 3 recipes costs £5.16 a serving against £6.04. The extra portion is tomorrow's lunch.
- Skip the premium recipes unless you really want one. The surcharge is on top of the box price and the discount does not cover it.
- Use the new-customer offer for the first eight weeks, and check before the last discounted box whether the normal price still works for you.
- Switch to fortnightly if you only cook from the box some weeks. It costs nothing to change.

The £3.99 delivery charge comes from Gousto's own price summary, which says all its prices exclude it. We used no discount code and no premium recipes or Market items.
