Too Many Foodboxes compares UK recipe boxes, prepared meal services, fruit and veg boxes and a handful of specialist food subscriptions. The aim is to help you work out which type of service fits your week, and to be straight about it when the answer is a supermarket shop rather than a subscription.
Who runs Too Many Foodboxes
The site is run by the team behind Foodboxen.nl, a meal box comparison site in the Netherlands. We have compared recipe boxes and meal kits in the Dutch and Belgian markets for years, and we started Too Many Foodboxes because the UK market is bigger and more varied, but harder to compare in one place.
The two sites share experience, not content. Too Many Foodboxes has its own provider list, its own prices and its own write-ups for the UK. Several brands operate in both countries, but menus, prices, delivery and even box sizes differ, so a Dutch finding is never presented as a UK one.
Tested or researched: what our pages are based on
Most pages on this site are research-based. That means we have gone through the provider’s own website, menus, prices, delivery terms and subscription conditions, and compared them with other services. It does not mean we have cooked the box in a UK kitchen.
Every brand page says which of the two it is. If we use experience from a box we ordered in the Netherlands for Foodboxen.nl, we label it as a Netherlands-based test, because the UK version of the same brand may not be identical.
How we choose which providers to cover
We cover services that deliver food to homes in the UK on a regular or repeatable basis: recipe boxes, prepared meals, fruit and veg boxes and a few specialist boxes. A provider is included because readers are likely to consider it, not because it pays us. Several services on the site have no commercial relationship with us at all.
When a service stops trading or stops delivering in the UK, we take it out of comparison tables and remove any links to order. Older pages about it may stay online as background, clearly marked.
Prices and offers
Food box prices change often, and first-box discounts make them look cheaper than they are. We therefore show the normal recurring price as the main figure, with the number of people, the number of meals and the delivery charge, and list any new-customer offer separately. Each price carries the date we last checked it. More detail is in how we communicate meal box prices.
How we make money
Some links on the site are affiliate links. If you order through one, the provider may pay us a commission. It does not change the price you pay. It also does not decide what we recommend: a service with an affiliate deal can still be the wrong choice for your household, and we will say so. Discount pages only list offers we could verify, and we do not use a discount as the reason to recommend a box.

Spotted something out of date?
Prices, menus and offers move quickly and we will not always catch every change straight away. If you notice a wrong price, an expired code or a service that no longer delivers, please let us know through the contact page. We check reports and correct the page where needed.
